A Message to President-Elect Barak Obama

I didn't originate these words but many of us could have written these words of advise to the president-elect:

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot lift the sage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your own income.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot establish security on borrowed money ( I add, do not borrow more than you can afford to pay back. All businesses need to borrow money to grow.)
You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man's initiative and independence.
You cannot help men (and women) permanently by doing for them what they could do for themselves.

These quotes are attributed to William J. H. Boetcker in 1916 or probably a couple thousand of others who have spoken or written the same words.

You sound like Fox News. The man isn't even in office yet and you and FOX, in fact any talking head for the GOP is tearing down every thing Obama says or might have said.

Hannity is spreading so much hate and disinformation that it boarders on treason more than free speech.

Why is it that when the Republicans had complete control of Government, it was OK but when the Democrats get complete control Jan 29th, 2009, it is all of a sudden a disaster and no party should have complete control?

You know as well as I do anyone making $250,000 a year or more knows how to build tax shelters, investments and whatever to avoid paying as little income tax as possible if any. The middle class, the ones Obama is talking about live paycheck to paycheck. They can barely save money let alone invest it and they pay the full tax on their incomes something the rich seldom do. That includes corporations like Pepsico that one year made over $500 million in profits and paid no taxes what so ever. Get over it Merle, a change has come and I for one am tired of being trickled down on.

Dear Anti,

You sound like MSNBC. Olbermann and Maddon; I could see those two as propagandists in some European despotic county in the 1930's.

Your man and his adminstration will have every opportunity to continue or change what the majority Democrats have done in the past two years.

Your side won, bask in your glory for 4 years. I'll be watching listening and waiting for my "spread the wealth" checks.

Obama is a self-made man, who became successful on the basis of hard work and ingenuity. He was not born into a world of wealth and privilege like so many of our politicians.

You are kidding yourself if you think he will forget the lessons of his own life and create a socialist society where individual innitiative is meaningless. He may give a lot of attention to the poor and underprivleged, but it will be based on making them take responsibility for their own lives and for the society they live in.
