Stop the Scams - A Public Service Blog

Stop the Scam!

Peoria - If something sounds too good to be true, beware the scam. Learn how to protect yourself and loved ones from scams during "Stop the Scam!" a free public workshop presented by Peoria County's TRIAD member from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, at ICC's North Campus. The class is offered through Illinois Central College's Adult Community Programs.

Attend this workshop to learn what to watch for and how to report suspicious solicitations. Peoria County's presenter will help you better identify scams by describing common schemes and methods that scam artists use to lure their targets. TRIAD is a safety organization that focuses on reducing victimization of senior citizens, but persons of any age are subject to scams and thus would benefit from this free presentation.

To register for "Stop the Scam!" call 999-4545 or visit www.icc.edu/acp and select "Special Interests." Seating is limited.
